Letter from the Pastor

Dear Friends,

Today is International Women’s Day (IWD). The first IWD was held in 1911, and it’s a day of collective global activism and celebration that belongs to all those committed to forging women's equality. This year’s theme is “Inspire Inclusion.”

At First Church, we aim to be a community where we welcome, include and affirm all people no matter where we are on life’s journey. This Sunday we will be inspired by Jesus’ words calling us to be the light in the world. We will hear about our Easter offering and its focus on One Great Hour of Sharing and Manchester Area Conference of Churches (MACC), and at the 10:00 a.m. service, our middle school puppet troupe will perform and we will welcome new members.

So, join us at 8:00 a.m. in the Micah Chapel, 10:00 a.m. in the Meetinghouse or online.

Amanda Gorman’s words in her book The Hill We Climb remind us of the importance of seeing and being the light in the world. "There is always light, if only we’re brave enough to see it. If only we’re brave enough to be it."

Friends, we are called to bring our light and God’s out into the world, and we get to do that together!

Love,

Kate
