Dear Friends,
Sometimes inspiration comes from unexpected places. A couple of days ago I opened my home email and got a bit overwhelmed by all the "junk mail." Buried in there, though, was an email from a local farm I support.
"We wanted to take a moment to wish you a happy Fourth of July—even if celebrating feels complicated this year. We know many of you may be carrying big feelings right now, and if you find yourself in that in-between space, you’re not alone...
May this holiday remind us that even in complicated times, there is still beauty to notice, good work to keep doing and small joys worth celebrating."
Life does feel complicated personally and collectively, and sometimes it's easy to get down and feel like the values of our faith aren't being honored. As we hear each week, God calls us to be hopeful and to always keep doing good work in the name of all of God's children.
One way we gain inspiration for the days ahead is by gathering together to sing, pray, connect and worship. We hope you will join us for worship this Sunday at 9:00 a.m. in the Meetinghouse or online.
The bulletin, large print bulletin and announcement slides are available on our website. You can watch any of our livestreamed or recorded services on our YouTube channel.
In The Message translation of our Sunday reading from 2 Timothy, it says, "Keep your eye on what you’re doing; accept the hard times along with the good; keep the Message alive; do a thorough job as God’s servant." In our topsy turvy world, we must be persistent and always work to share God's message of love, justice and hope.
Blessings,
Kate
