Maggie Mitchell Salem, Executive Director of IRIS, will join us for an engaging conversation about the current state of immigrant and refugee issues, and what you can do to help.
Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services (IRIS) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to help refugees and other displaced people establish new lives and contribute to their new communities in Connecticut and across the country. They also provide support to Americans who are sponsoring refugees for resettlement. For more information, check out their website at irisct.org.
First Church has supported the work of IRIS for many years by sponsoring refugees, donating to the organization, and collecting items (such as clothing and household items).
