This 577-acre property started out in 1921 as Camp Mooween, a summer camp for boys. The state purchased it in 1989, establishing it as Red Cedar Lake State Park. After lobbying by camp alumni, it was renamed Mooween to honor the camp. This property features Red Cedar Lake, the foundations and chimneys of the old camp buildings and miles of trails. Our hike will feature a stop at the Babers’ property for a picnic.
