Watch the Service

Letter from the Pastor

Dear Friends,

Last week during worship I participated in the children’s message with Ms. Kelsey and our church kids. The children asked me questions, including what is my favorite Bible story. As you might imagine, I have a bunch, but the one I mentioned was Jesus calling his first disciples. I’ve always been fascinated by this passage. If I were busy doing my job and some random person stopped and told me to come follow him and do good in the world, would I? In today’s world, what does it mean to follow Jesus?

This Sunday we will think about following Jesus, and we will also ponder what it means to be the body of Christ and include all people in our community. On Sunday, we will celebrate Holy Communion at the beginning of the service so our children can participate. This is always a joyous (and sometimes noisy) experience!

We hope you will join us this Sunday as we worship together at 8:00 a.m. in the Micah Chapel and then at 10:00 a.m. in the Meetinghouse. Or you can join us online.

Lastly, I’d like to offer a word of gratitude for the joyous worship service and celebration last Sunday. Thank you for honoring my years in ministry and for being a community of big-hearted, justice-seeking and hope-filled people! It is my privilege to be a part of our church where we follow Jesus’ path of love, include others and dream together!

With gratitude and love,

Kate
