Dear Friends,
In a world of fear and hopelessness, we claim the promises of Jesus’ birth – promises of hope, peace, joy and love. We feel and know the anxiety that is all around us from war and violence, isolation, destruction and hatred, and yet we also know the power of love. In a world of sadness, may we be people of love.
Love lives at First Church because of you! One way we share that love is by worshipping together. We hope you will join us this Sunday at 8:00 a.m. in the Micah Chapel, 10:00 a.m. in the Meetinghouse or online.
The bulletin, large print bulletin and announcement slides are available on our website. You can watch any of our livestreamed or recorded services on our YouTube channel.
We also have three services on Christmas Eve – at 4:30 p.m., 8:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. We hope you will join us!
Recently a colleague shared this poem called Invocation written by Christine Rogers.
The angels
are
waiting.
Everywhere
in the
world
with
infinite
patience
the angels
wait
breathless
beside
their great
invitation.
Will we
open
our hearts.
Will we
give
birth
To love.
Will we
Answer
Yes.
Blessings,
Kate
P.S. We are looking forward to our Children's Nativity Play during the 10:00 a.m. service. Children (preschool through 8th grade) should arrive in Schultz Hall by 9:15 a.m. this Sunday.

Please support our Christmas Offering! This year all proceeds will go to Hands on Hartford, HELO Haiti, Horace Bushnell Children’s Food Pantry, South Park Inn and the First Church Intergenerational Mission Trip.
Our First Church family of faith enjoys worshipping together, and we hope you will join us! On most Sundays our worship services are at 8:00 am in the Micah Chapel, 10:00 am in the Meetinghouse and livestreamed at 10:00 am (and are also available for viewing later).
