Dear Friends,
For 332 years, the people of First Church have loved God and our neighbors and have worked to make the world a more compassionate and just place.
For 322 years, we have lived out our faith by practicing peace, leading with love, working for justice and serving others.
For 332 years, First Church has been a soft resting place, a home, to people of all ages and backgrounds.
Even as our hearts are heavy with all that’s going on in our own lives and in the world, we come together to pray, sing, connect and find a community where we are welcomed and loved. We hope you will join us for our ONE festive worship service this Sunday celebrating the church’s birthday at 10:00 a.m. in the Meetinghouse or you can watch online.
The bulletin, large print bulletin, and announcement slides are available on our website. You can watch any of our livestreamed or recorded services on our YouTube channel.
When the heaviness of the world threatens to consume us, let us turn to our community where we are being the church together - proclaiming peace, working for justice, building a loving community and sharing hope and joy. At First Church, we do those things together now and will continue to do so for decades to come.
I hope to see you Sunday as we celebrate, reflect and worship together.
Blessings,
Kate
P.S. All are invited to join us this weekend for several special events:
Music at the Meetinghouse concert featuring our own Stanley Battle on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
Micah Moment about the importance of the mission of Franklinton Center at Bricks led by David Taylor on Sunday at 11:30 a.m.
Blessing of the Animals including individual blessings for your pets at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday
Our First Church family of faith enjoys worshipping together, and we hope you will join us! On Most Sundays, our worship services are at 8:00 am in the Micah Chapel, 10:00 am in the Meetinghouse and livestreamed at 10:00 am (and are also available for viewing later).
