Dear Friends,
I'm spending this weekend in Prison. Will you join me on Sunday at 10:00 a.m.?
We will not be behind bars exactly, but spiritually, we will be in jail alongside Paul and Silas as we read about their imprisonment in Philippi.
This weekend, as people across America mark Memorial Day with reflections on freedom and sacrifice, we will be asking ourselves where and how those ideas show up in our Christian faith. We will take a dive into the history of World War II, its atrocities, and the legacy left behind as the world responded, "Never Again."
We have not fully lived up to the promise of "Never Again" as a global society, but it sets an aspirational benchmark by which we might measure our commitment to a world of liberty, peace, justice and dignity. The work continues. Come worship with us and be inspired at 10:00 a.m. or online on Sunday.
The bulletin, large print bulletin and announcement slides are available on our website. You can watch any of our livestreamed or recorded services on our YouTube channel.
Kindly,
Pastor Andrew
Our First Church family of faith enjoys worshipping together, and we hope you will join us! On most Sundays our worship services are at 8:00 am in the Micah Chapel and 10:00 am in the Meetinghouse and livestreamed (and are also available for viewing later).
