Dear Friends,

This Sunday we will celebrate Pentecost, the birthday of the church universal (and Memorial Day weekend). God sent a heart-stirring and soul-challenging Spirit to galvanize those earliest followers of the itinerant teacher, Jesus, and the Spirit moved them to form a community of radical love. This event forever changed the course of human history. Just like the disciples before us, we are bound together by this Spirit. The Holy Spirit comes to stitch us together in our uniqueness and shape us into a community that sings, serves and grows together.

In this spirit of oneness, let us worship together at 10:00 a.m. (only one service during our Season of Celebration) in the Meetinghouse and online.

The bulletin, large print bulletin and announcement slides are available on our website. You can watch any of our livestreamed or recorded services on our YouTube channel.

On Sunday, we invite you to wear red clothing to worship. By dressing in red on Pentecost Sunday, we will visually demonstrate our commitment to being vessels of God’s love and agents of transformation. No matter what color we wear, the Spirit will be moving!

For our sung response, we are singing God is Here! May these words inspire us in our daily living.

God is here! As we Your people meeting to offer praise and prayer,

May we find in fuller measure what it is in Christ we share.

Here, as in the world around us, all our varied skills and arts,

Wait the coming of the Spirit into open minds and hearts.

Blessings,

Kate

Our First Church family of faith enjoys worshipping together, and we hope you will join us! During our Season of Celebration, we have one service at 10:00 am in the Meetinghouse and livestreamed (and services are also available for viewing later).
