Dear Friends,

Your worship leaders often use words of theologian Henri Nouwen in our services. This week you will see these words inspiring words from Henri on our bulletin cover.

Community is first of all a quality of the heart.

It grows from the spiritual knowledge that we are alive

not for ourselves but for one another.

The question, therefore, is "How can we develop

and nurture giving hearts?"

At First Church, we work hard to build an inclusive and compassionate community where we care for one another and the world. Over the years, we've often said how the people of First Church have big hearts, and it's true! ❤️ You know the importance of our church community and caring for one another, and you live out God's call of sharing love, hope and justice in the world.

One of the ways we keep our hearts healthy is by coming to worship and praying, singing and being together. We invite you to worship with us this Sunday at 8 a.m. in the Micah Chapel, 10 a.m. in the Meetinghouse or online.

The bulletin, large print bulletin and announcement slides are available on our website. You can watch any of our livestreamed or recorded services on our YouTube channel.

As we worship together, we will reaffirm the truths of life that we need one another, and the world needs us. Our giving hearts can make a difference each and every day in big ways and small. ❤️

It's a blessing to be part of our congregation, and I hope to see you on Sunday.

Take care,

Kate

Our First Church family of faith enjoys worshipping together, and we hope you will join us! On most Sundays our worship services are at 8:00 am in the Micah Chapel, 10:00 am in the Meetinghouse and livestreamed at 10:00 am (and are also available for viewing later).
