Dear Friends,

Life is a journey filled with twists and turns, mountain highs, valley lows and lots of straight sections. This Sunday we begin the journey of Holy Week. The days of Holy Week are filled with many emotions – joy, anger, betrayal and sadness – all emotions that fill our lives. During our life journeys, I'm grateful for our First Church village and how we come together to love, sing, lament, serve, learn and worship together.

We invite you to worship with us on Palm and Passion Sunday. We have two services at 8:00 and 10:00 a.m., both in the Meetinghouse, and you can join us online at 10:00 a.m. The beginning of the service will focus on Palm Sunday and will be followed by the reading of the Passion narrative with tableaus, including the events of Jesus’ suffering and death. The worship service will end in silence.

At both services, bring your change and bills because the children (or worship leaders! 🙂) will “fleece” the congregation in order to raise money for One Great Hour of Sharing. You can also donate online to our Easter offering.

The bulletin, large print bulletin and announcement slides are available on our website. You can watch any of our livestreamed or recorded services on our YouTube channel.

As we begin Holy Week, may we remember that despite life’s changes, challenges and loneliness, we are loved by God and we belong to a community where we support and care for one another and the world.

With love,

Kate

Our First Church family of faith enjoys worshipping together, and we hope you will join us! On most Sundays our worship services are at 8:00 am in the Micah Chapel, 10:00 am in the Meetinghouse and livestreamed at 10:00 am (and are also available for viewing later).
