Dear Friends,

Poet and UNICEF Ambassador Amanda Gorman's poem fits perfectly into the season of Epiphany, a season of light.

For there is always light, if only we're brave enough to see it.

If only we're brave enough to be it.

Throughout all of our days, we need to see and be the light that shines in the darkness of our nation, world and our own lives. We need to answer Jesus' lakeshore call to follow and to be his disciples of light. We try to do this each and every day at First Church.

One way we are inspired to be the light in the world is by coming together to worship. Thank you to Pastor Emeritus David Taylor who will be preaching this Sunday. Despite the cold temperatures, we will gather to worship this Sunday at 8:00 a.m. in the Micah Chapel, 10:00 a.m. in the Meetinghouse or online.

The bulletin, large print bulletin and announcement slides are available on our website. You can watch any of our livestreamed or recorded services on our YouTube channel.

Just the other day, a church member and I were giving thanks for the sun staying out longer each day. Light can make such a difference in our individual and communal lives! Let us always remember to bring God's light and love out into the world!

Hope to see you Sunday,

Kate

Our First Church family of faith enjoys worshipping together, and we hope you will join us! On most Sundays our worship services are at 8:00 am in the Micah Chapel, 10:00 am in the Meetinghouse and livestreamed at 10:00 am (and are also available for viewing later).
