Dear Friends,
On the cover of Sunday's bulletin, you will find smiling pictures of our church people, you all, serving in our community. With hands, hearts and smiles, you give of yourselves to make the world a more just and compassionate place.
One of my favorite Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King quotes shares how we can all be great.
"Everybody can be great...because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love."
At First Church, we care about one another, and we care about the world around us. Each Sunday we come together to pray, sing, worship and be inspired to go back out into the world sharing God's love and grace wherever we go.
Come worship with us this Sunday! We will gather at 8:00 a.m. in the Micah Chapel and 10:00 a.m. in the Meetinghouse and online. In our services, we will hear different voices sharing why mission matters and how serving can change our lives and the world.
The bulletin, large print bulletin and announcement slides are available on our website. You can watch any of our livestreamed or recorded services on our YouTube channel.
One of the hymns we will sing this Sunday is called "Live Into Hope," and the ending words keep running through my mind. "God now proclaims our full release to faith and hope and joy and peace."
Each and every day may we fill our lives with compassion, faith, hope, joy and peace that can be shared near and far.
Blessings,
Kate
Our First Church family of faith enjoys worshipping together, and we hope you will join us! On most Sundays our worship services are at 8:00 am in the Micah Chapel, 10:00 am in the Meetinghouse and livestreamed at 10:00 am (and are also available for viewing later).
