Work for justice. Be the light. Encourage others.
The words above appear on a sign created by our denomination, the United Church of Christ, years ago. The same words hang on a second floor bulletin board at First Church. These simple and powerful phrases remind us of how we are called to live.
When violence erupts in our country and around the world, wars rage on, illness kills, depression wreaks havoc, benefits are cut and children die from hunger, where do we turn to find hope and make a difference in the world? We turn to our church community, where together we are being the church and planting and nurturing the seeds of hope, peace, justice and love in our community and beyond.
This Sunday we will gather at 8:00 a.m. in the Micah Chapel and 10:00 a.m. in the Meetinghouse and online. Please join us!
