A Sacred Nine Project Premiere Performance

The town of Glastonbury will be highlighted in the premiere performance of C. Leonard Raybon’s “Hannah and Her Daughters,” sponsored by Connecticut Museum of Culture and History, Historical Society of Glastonbury and Social Justice Team of First Church, Glastonbury.

This work, inspired by the historical writings of Glastonbury’s native daughter, Hannah Hadassah Hickok, from her 1784 journals comprises a set of twenty pieces to be performed by soloists and musicians from the Hartt School of Music and the Chancel Choir of First Church, Glastonbury.

From New Orleans to Glastonbury, Leonard Raybon, Associate Professor of Music at Tulane University, is committed to educating and inspiring audiences by this Sacred Nine Project whose focus is to shape a future America by “engaging with music, texts or events from an earlier America.” To learn more about Sacred Nine Project, visit sacrednine.com and listen to the Sacred Nine Project podcast.
