First Church is an official collection site for Connecticut Foodshare’s annual Thanksgiving turkey drive and fundraiser. Each November, church members and friends are invited to bring FROZEN turkeys and make donations of any amount to help our neighbors in need.
The need for food assistance is great, not just through the holidays but year-round. Please make checks payable directly to Connecticut Foodshare -- which will help Foodshare meet its goal of providing 50,000 meals.
If you are not able to drop by in person, you can give online at any time! Thank you!
Thank you to our church and community donors, who generously gave 337 turkeys and more than $10,000 to Connecticut Foodshare’s Thanksgiving for All turkey and fundraising drive when First Church was a host site on November 23, 2025!
Connecticut Foodshare’s vision is for a community where all people can get the food they need. For over a decade, the Connecticut Foodshare Mobile Food Pantry has come to our back parking lot every other Wednesday morning for this market-style distribution of fresh produce and other foods. On alternating Wednesday mornings, we help sort and package the produce (at the Wallingford warehouse) that is distributed on the Mobile Food Pantry truck at various sites across the state.
