When: Sunday, November 23, 7:30 am-12:30 pm

Where: Our back parking lot

First Church is an official collection site for Connecticut Foodshare’s annual Thanksgiving turkey drive and fundraiser. Church members and friends are invited to bring FROZEN turkeys and make donations of any amount to help our neighbors in need. Help us reach our goal of 300 turkeys this year! Plus we are trying to raise $2,000 to help provide turkeys and Thanksgiving dinners to families in our community.

Bring your FROZEN turkeys and checks to the church’s back lobby on Sunday, November 23, from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm. There will be volunteers there to help.

The need for food assistance is great, not just through the holidays but year-round. Please make checks payable directly to Connecticut Foodshare -- which will help Foodshare meet its goal of providing 50,000 meals.

If you are not able to drop by in person, you can give online at any time! Thank you!

We also need volunteers to help collect the dropped off turkeys and checks (payable to CT Foodshare) in our back parking lot. Individuals, families and/or youth are invited to participate. If you can volunteer for an hour or two, your time would be much appreciated! Sign up online or contact our coordinators below for more information.

Contact: If you have any questions, please contact Beri Williams (berirae1@gmail.com) or Judy Burr (jaburr@cox.net) or Nicole Struth at nicole@glastonburyfirst.org for more information.

Connecticut Foodshare’s vision is for a community where all people can get the food they need. For over a decade, the Connecticut Foodshare Mobile Food Pantry has come to our back parking lot every other Wednesday morning for this market-style distribution of fresh produce and other foods. On alternating Wednesday mornings, we help sort and package the produce (at the Wallingford warehouse) that is distributed on the Mobile Food Pantry truck at various sites across the state.
