Dear Friends,
This week I’ve had the privilege of holding our newest church baby. When I was driving away from the hospital, I thought about the blessing of being part of a community of faith where we nurture and support one another. In our First Church village, we come together to hold, love, sing, pray, lament, dream, serve, learn and worship.
Each Sunday we come together to be in community and to worship God. This Sunday is Palm and Passion Sunday, and we have two services at 8:00 and 10:00 a.m., both in the Meetinghouse, and you can join us online at 10:00 a.m. The beginning of the service will focus on Palm Sunday and will be followed by the reading of the Passion narrative with tableaus, including the events of Jesus’ suffering and death. The worship service will end in silence.
At both services, bring your change and bills because the children (or pastors) will “fleece” the congregation in order to raise money for One Great Hour of Sharing. You can also donate online to our Easter offering.
The bulletin, large print bulletin and announcement slides are available on our website. You can watch any of our livestreamed or recorded services on our YouTube channel.
As we begin Holy Week, may we remember that despite life’s changes, challenges and loneliness, we are loved by God and we belong to a community where we support and care for one another and the world.
With love,
Kate
Our First Church family of faith enjoys worshipping together, and we hope you will join us! On most Sundays our worship services are at 8:00 am in the Micah Chapel and 10:00 am in the Meetinghouse and livestreamed (and are also available for viewing later).
