Dear Friends,

Today is World Refugee Day. According to the UN, “more than 120 million people have been displaced worldwide as a result of persecution, conflict, violence, or human rights violations. We are witnessing the highest levels of displacement on record.” How do we find God in the midst of an eruption of global chaos that prevents so many people from finding safety and security in their own home?

On Sunday we’ll dive into Elijah’s encounter with God on Mount Horeb. In many ways, Elijah was a refugee, fleeing from violence and persecution in his own land. He ran into the unknown, where he found God not within the winds and earthquakes and fires, but in the silence that lay beyond them. God walks beside all of us, even through the uncertainties that rock our very foundation. Just as Elijah is asked, God asks us “what are you doing here?” What are we doing here? What are we doing here?

We hope you will worship with us on Sunday at 9:00 a.m. in the Meetinghouse or online. We will continue to have childcare and Church School throughout the summer. We can't wait to see you there!

The bulletin, large print bulletin and announcement slides are available on our website. You can watch any of our livestreamed or recorded services on our YouTube channel.

In Christ’s love we are all one people. Together, we’re creating a world that can live out that promise.

With love and blessings,

Nicole

Our First Church family of faith enjoys worshipping together, and we hope you will join us! On summer Sundays our worship services are at 9:00 am in the Meetinghouse and livestreamed (and are also available for viewing later).
