Thursday Morning Study Group will meet on Thursday, June 13, from 9:30 – 11:00 am in the Lehman Library to talk about West with Giraffes: A Novel by Lynda Rutledge. An emotional, rousing novel inspired by the incredible true story of two giraffes who made headlines and won the hearts of Depression-era America.

“Few true friends I have known and two were giraffes.” – Google Books

We will read The Covenant of Water by Abraham Verghese during the summer.

“A shimmering evocation of a bygone India and of the passage of time itself, The Covenant of Water is a hymn to progress in medicine and to human understanding, and a humbling testament to the hardships undergone by past generations for the sake of those alive today. Imbued with humor, deep emotion, and the essence of life, it is one of the most masterful literary novels published in recent years.” – Goodreads Choice Award, Best Historical Fiction 2023
