We are delighted to welcome internationally acclaimed performers Johan Hartman and Sarah Tsai Hartman to our series for an exceptional evening of music, “Art Songs and Arias.” This distinguished husband-and-wife duo brings together two accomplished artists whose careers span opera, concert repertoire, composition and performances on stages around the world.

A bass-baritone and composer, Johan Hartman is recognized for his rich, resonant voice and compelling approach to musical storytelling. His extensive operatic repertoire includes such celebrated roles as Leporello in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Sarastro in The Magic Flute, and Pistola in Verdi’s Falstaff. With a commanding stage presence and an ability to bring dramatic depth and humanity to every character, Hartman has established himself as a versatile international performer.

Joining him is mezzo-soprano Sarah Tsai Hartman, an accomplished emerging artist with experience in both opera and concert repertoire. Her notable operatic roles include Minskwoman in Jonathan Dove’s Flight, Cherubino in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro, and the Mother in Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors. Her performances have carried her to stages across the world, where she has captivated audiences with her expressive voice, musical sensitivity, and engaging artistry.

Together, the Hartmans offer a unique musical partnership that combines the intimacy of art song with the dramatic power and emotional range of opera.

Note: These are updated concert artists instead of the originally scheduled Armantano Duo.
