Dear Friends,

The other day I was driving with Lucas and Andrew, and one of them commented on how brown and yucky some of the snow looked. I agreed and said, “Spring is coming, and I can’t wait!” 🌺 Later that afternoon I was at my parents’ house, and I noticed the first crocuses peaking up out of the ground. Thanks to my mom’s love of gardening and nature doing her thing, beauty is breaking forth from the muddy earth. Nature sure can dazzle us with her transformative beauty.

Despite being a very consistent church attender throughout my life, I don’t remember Transfiguration Sunday being a day that got much attention. As an adult, I have wrestled with this text and each time I preach it, I find new insights. So, come this Sunday as we sing, pray and learn together. We will worship at 8:00 a.m. in the Micah Chapel, 10:00 a.m. in the Meetinghouse and online!

The bulletin, large print bulletin and announcement slides are available on our website. You can watch any of our livestreamed or recorded services on our YouTube channel.

There is a lot of sadness, injustice and frustration in our personal lives and in the world, and there is also grace, compassion and beauty. May our hearts be open to the transformations happening all around us, and may we have the courage to work for peace, justice and love in our world.

Blessings,

Kate
