March 9 Worship Service including Puppet Troupe

    March 9 Mallet Ringers Prelude

Dear Friends,

Just a couple of days ago, we had our Ash Wednesday services at church, and while we gathered, we imposed ashes on peoples’ hands or foreheads. For me as a pastor, it is a deeply meaningful experience. Andrew and I had the privilege of looking people in the eyes and reminding them that they are human – “You are dust and to dust you shall return.” It is a somber message, and yet it is done in community and with human touch. To me that symbolizes that we are never alone; we have God and we have one another.

Each week we gather together to remember who we are and whose we are. We hope you will come to worship this Sunday as together we are journeying in the wilderness of Lent. We will worship at 8:00 a.m. in the Micah Chapel, 10:00 a.m. in the Meetinghouse and online!

The bulletin, large print bulletin and announcement slides are available on our website. You can watch any of our livestreamed or recorded services on our YouTube channel.

Lent is a season of reflection and repentance. It is also a season where we are reminded that we are not alone on the journey of life. I’ve been humming the hymn God, We Wonder Where to Find You lately, and here are the words from the last verse.

God, we trust that you are with us, dwelling in the here and now.

When we struggle to live fully, your compassion shows us how.

As we work to bring your justice, as we seek your peaceful way,

As we put our faith in practice, may we find you, God, today.

Lenten blessings,

Kate

Our First Church family of faith enjoys worshipping together, and we hope you will join us! On most Sundays our worship services are at 8:00 am in the Micah Chapel and 10:00 am in the Meetinghouse and livestreamed (and are also available for viewing later).
