Ministry
† Homecoming Sunday
is held annually in early September. This is a festive time of new beginnings,
and a renewal of friendships upon “coming home,” accompanied
by a picnic after an upbeat worship service.
† Naubuc Green Birthday
Party is held for residents of Naubuc Green, celebrating their birthdays
during the months of August and September. Birthday cake and beverages
are served in the dining room with entertainment provided.

Harvest Supper
is a special church-wide potluck dinner held the Sunday before Thanksgiving.
It is a time for delicious food and entertainment, with thanksgiving to
God for life’s blessings.

Women’s Christmas
Luncheon is a festive holiday lunch served to the women of First Church.
It is an opportunity for women to come together in the midst of the Christmas
season for a time of food, fellowship and entertainment.

Music in the Meetinghouse
Potluck Supper is held before one winter concert. It’s nice to enjoy
dinner with our church family before experiencing a special music program.

Meal of the Upper
Room is a time of quiet meditation and food for the spirit during Lent.
†
Golden Member
Brunch is traditionally held in May, honoring those who have been members
of First Church for 50 years or more. This is an opportunity to thank
them for their faith and leadership throughout many years.

Group Ministries

Common Fellowship
and Summer Punch on the Lawn offer Sunday opportunities to socialize with
our church family following worship services.
†
Caring Ministries
includes a variety of ways in which we provide physical, emotional, and
spiritual support for members and friends of our church. These ministries
include: Support Teams, In Reach Callers, Special Visitors, Flowers, Faith Community Nursing, and Prayer Shawls.
†
Sewing Circle keeps
busy with projects for the church and the wider community. They make baby
blankets to be delivered to new babies born into our community of faith.
†
Basket Ministry
is a ministry in which baskets are put together and taken to people who
are in need of support. The Board of Lay Life coordinates this ministry
and invites others to come and help assemble the baskets, have refreshments,
and partake in fellowship. After the baskets are assembled, they are ready
to be delivered by volunteers in Caring Ministries.

Women’s Ministry
is for women in the church to come together to plan events such as the
Christmas Luncheon, retreats, and other opportunities promoting fellowship.
†
Potpourri welcomes
men of First Church who are early risers and desire Christian fellowship
at the start of the day. They meet on the first and third Tuesdays at
7:30 a.m. in the church kitchen for breakfast and conversation.
