The Church School runs September through June for over 200 children, three-year-olds through 8th grade. Over 50 caring volunteer teachers (both adults and teenagers) make our Church School a warm and happy place for children to learn about the Bible and God’s love for them.
Children attend the
beginning of worship in the Meetinghouse with their families.
After the passing of the peace, the children and teachers go
to their classrooms. Within the classrooms, there are various
types of worship and fellowship, including singing, making
crafts, reading stories, discussing the Bible and other ideas,
and enjoying each other’s company.
We have several different curricula being used in our Church School program. Preschoolers will be in room 105 and will have a team of volunteers who will teach them. The curriculum is called "Bible Lessons for Toddlers and Twos."

Children in kindergarten on up use
Rotation
Model Curriculum. Using this model of curriculum, the children
focus on one Bible story for four to five weeks and will “rotate”
to different stations such as art, story and games over this time
period. This model of learning is meaningful to children because the
story is heard more than once, but in different ways, incorporating
the theory of multiple intelligences. In other words, we all learn
in different ways and in different formats – some visually, some by
reading, some by senses. There are five different grade levels (K & 1,
2, 3, 4 and 5 & up) using Rotation Model Curriculum.
Our sixth, seventh
and eighth graders choose whether they want to be in a Church
School class using Rotation Model Curriculum or participate
in one of our puppet
troupes. In the puppet troupes, skits and songs are written,
rehearsed and performed in church, during the Church School
hour for the children and at other events throughout the year.
The young people become the teachers and preachers of God’s
love.
During the summer, the Board offers a Church School program and child care for all children. View the
