Church Events

First Church holds a number of Special Events throughout the year, promoting fellowship and celebrating our Church Family.

Homecoming Sunday is held annually on the Sunday following Labor Day as a celebration and kick-off to each new program year. We welcome our entire church family and visitors to enjoy a festive Worship Service featuring the music of Ross Tucker and The Hot Cat Jazz Band, followed by a picnic on the church grounds. Hot dogs and hamburgers are provided and church members bring side dishes and desserts. This is wonderful opportunity to get friends and families together, welcome visitors, and hear about new programs and initiatives.

Harvest Supper and All-Church Talent Show is a special church-wide potluck dinner held the Sunday before Thanksgiving. Families get together to enjoy delicious food and entertainment, and give thanks to God for all of life’s blessings.

Our Pancake Breakfast is held every spring on the Saturday morning before Easter. Families from the community are invited to enjoy pancakes, join in an Easter Egg Hunt, and visit with the Easter Bunny.

Our Gold and Silver Member Brunch is traditionally held in May and honors those who have been members of First Church for 40 years or more. This is an opportunity to thank those members for their many years of service, faith and leadership.

New Events are planned, when all are invited for an evening of fellowship, fun, dinner and dessert. Bring your children, as child care and children’s activities are be provided. Examples are Bingo Night, Bunco Night and Family Movie Night.
